Loss of a Loved One - Karen Altizer

  • Grief is not something to rush past. It’s something to be held — with care, in the presence of God, and alongside others who understand.

This 7-week group coaching journey is designed to help you gently process the loss of a loved one with biblical truth, emotional honesty, and supportive community.
Each week, you'll be invited into compassionate conversations that honor your grief and offer space for hope to take root again.

    Together, we’ll explore:
✓ Naming your story of loss and giving yourself permission to grieve
✓ Understanding the emotional and neurological effects of grief
✓ Learning healthy ways to process and express sorrow
✓ Rebuilding trust in your relationship with God
✓ Restoring identity and connection with yourself
✓ Strengthening relationships and growing through grief

  • 1. Commitment Matters:
By signing up for this group, you’re reserving a limited spot that someone else may need. We ask that you make every effort to attend all sessions. While we understand that unforeseen circumstances or prior obligations may lead to missing one or two meetings, consistent participation is expected and vital to both your experience and the group’s rhythm.

    2. Billing Structure:
Payment begins the week you sign up and continues weekly for 7 weeks total. This may mean your payment schedule starts before your group begins—especially if you register early—and ends before the group finishes. For example, if your group starts in 3 weeks, your 7 payments will run from now through week 4 of the group. Regardless of timing, you will receive all 7 sessions in full. This setup simply ensures your spot is secured and billing remains simple.

    3. No Refunds for Missed Sessions:
Missed sessions will not be refunded or skipped in billing. This honors the commitment you’ve made to the group and the value of the space being held for you. In addition, much of the growth happens through the weekly course content and reflection between meetings, so there is always something to engage with—even if you miss a live session.

  • Karen is a Christ-centered coach with a heart for those walking through grief, trauma, and the quiet weight of loss. After experiencing her own journey of sorrow and healing, she felt the Lord call her to walk alongside others facing profound pain—including grief related to suicide, PTSD, anxiety, church hurt, and family struggle.

Karen has served faithfully for over 20 years in her church and community, including more than a decade as a facilitator with GriefShare. Her approach is compassionate and rooted in the belief that our struggles are sacred ground—worthy of being seen, remembered, and met by the tender presence of God. She brings not only her personal experience, but also a deep commitment to growth through ongoing training and multiple coaching certification

Fun Fact: Walking, hiking, jogging, reading, and spending time with my family delights my soul. A fun (and surprising) fact about me is that I am a hobby breeder of AKC registered Cocker Spaniels.
